If you want to taste some local flavors, there are some fabulous restaurants ... old and new ... that are satisfying the taste buds of the locals!   

"We visit family in Carbondale every summer and our first stop for food is for pizza at Italian Village,"  says Bob and his kids from South Carolina!   The kids said they love the pizza and Bob said it reminded him of his college days!  Nostalgia!

Fran said, "I love the coconut cream pie at Mary Lou's .. the old place or the new place ... love the pie!"

Terry loves to brag about the fact that his wife sells bait to the fishermen who are headed to Murphysboro Lake and Lake Kinkaid!  If you are going for bass or muskie ... go there!
