If you are planning a visit to Carbondale, you are probably in the 90% of visitors who arrive by automobile!  If you are coming from St. Louis, you might come south on Route 3 ... the Great River Road ... and you'll intersect with Route 149 to travel east to Murphysboro and Carbondale.  You might want to travel east on Interstate 64, then south on Route 127 at the Nashville (Illinois) exit.  If you are coming from the south, you're probably planning to arrive via Interstate 55 or 57.  Carbondale is located just a few minutes off the Interstates, so just jump off at the Carbondale exit.

Many people arrive in Carbondale via Amtrak.  We have taxi service to our hotels and if you need a rental car, you can arrange to have one waiting for you at the train station.
